WATCH: Florida Man Uses Trash Bin To Trap An Alligator

A video of a brave Florida man capturing an alligator in his front yard has gone viral. The man, identified as Eugene Bozzi by WESH, approaches the gator with a large black trash bin with a blue lid as his family and friends watched.

He continues pushing the garbage bin towards the alligator as it hisses back at him. After a few tries, he managed to get the gator inside the bin and then pulled it upright so he could close the lid, trapping the alligator inside as the bystanders let out a cheer.

Bozzi then wheeled the bin across the street and set it down in a grassy area near a small lake. The gator slowly crawled out of the trash bin and disappeared into the brush as Bozzi retrieved his trash bin.

Bozzi, who is a U.S. Marine, told the New York Post that he knew he had to act fast to protect the kids who were playing outside.

"I went over there, and it was bigger than me. There were other peoples' kids out there, also. Military instinct kicked in — and, you know, protect at all costs," Bozzi said.

If the alligator returns, Bozzi said he would contact animal control to have it trapped and relocated.
