Shaedon Sharpe Leads Trail Blazers Past Pelicans

Shaedon Sharpe scored a game-high 35 points and Deni Avdija added 32 as the Portland Trail Blazers improved to 6-5 on the season with a 125-117 victory over the New Orleans Pelicans Wednesday night in New Orleans.

Jrue Holiday bounced back from a rough night in Orlando on Monday. He finished with 17 points and 12 assists on 6-of-12 shooting.

The Trail Blazers trailed by just two at halftime but used a 17-4 third quarter run to take a double-digit lead into the fourth at 95-85. Portland pushed their lead to 15 early in the fourth, but a 16-4 run by the Pelicans cut the Blazers lead to just three with 3:45 remaining.

Sharpe and Avdija would power a 13-8 Trail Blazers run to close the game and secure the win.

Jerami Grant and Yves Missi were both ejected in the first half after getting tangled up underneath the basket and grabbing each other's throats.

The Blazers were +4 in points off turnovers and had a 17-6 edge in fastbreak points.

Up Next- The Trail Blazers travel to Houston to meet the Rockets on Friday evening. The game is scheduled to tip off at 5:00 PM.
