Mikal Bridges scored a game-high 33 points including a game-winning three-pointer as the final buzzer in overtime to lift the New York Knicks over the Portland Trail Blazers 114-113 Wednesday night at Moda Center.
Deni Avdija put the Trail Blazers on top with a three-point play with 3.4 seconds on the clock following a turnover from Josh Hart. The Knicks then called one of their two remaining timeouts to setup the final shot by Bridges.
Scoot Henderson led Portland (28-39) with a team-high 30 points. Scoot scored 18 in the fourth and connected on two free throws to force overtime. Henderson hit a three-pointer and completed a three-point play in the final 1:06 to put Portland in a position to tie the game.
Deni Avdija had another big night with 27 points, 15 rebounds, and five assists and Shaedon Sharpe added 21 points and nine rebounds.
The two troubling numbers for Portland was Free throws and turnovers. The Trail Blazers connected on just 16-of-25 from the charity stripe and committed 25 turnovers leading to 31 points for the Knicks.
Next Up- The Trail Blazers host the Toronto Raptors Sunday afternoon at Moda Center. The game is scheduled to tip off at 3:00 PM.
