------ Damian Lillard scores 25 points as the Portland Trail Blazers respond after back-to-back losses on Friday and Saturday with a 121-105 victory over the Phoenix Suns Tuesday night at Moda Center in Portland, Oregon.

Rest and practice can do wonders for a basketball team.

After back-to-back losses on Friday and Saturday night, the Trail Blazers needed time to regroup before their rematch with the Suns on Tuesday night.

With the extra time, the Trail Blazers got some extra rest and practice time address the issues that plagued them during Friday night's loss to the Suns in Phoenix. The extra preparation time proved valuable.

A rejuvenated Damian Lillard led Portland with 25 points and CJ McCollum and Trevor Ariza added 22 points apiece as the Portland Trail Blazers got a much needed win over the Phoenix Suns Tuesday night at Moda Center in Portland, Oregon.

“Coming off the game we had in Phoenix, it was obvious we wanted to come back and show a lot more resistance, in a game that we really needed,” Lillard said. “To try and make this final push for the playoffs, we had to have this one.”

Portland (29-37) led by four-points entering the fourth quarter but exploded with seven three-pointers in the period including a three from Mario Hezonja with 7:28 to play extending the Blazers' lead to 14-points.

Blazers Coach Terry Stotts confirmed the value of rest and practice following the game.

"The fact that we really laid an egg against Sacramento, the fact that we had two days off, the fact that we had a practice, like I said, they were fresh in our minds and we were able to go through some of the things that gave us trouble, so I think those things contributed to a good start.”

The Blazers shot 50.6% from the field including 17-of-35 from three-point range.

Devin Booker led Phoenix (26-39) with 29 points, nine rebounds, and six assists.

Up Next- The Trail Blazers will host the Memphis Grizzlies Thursday night at Moda Center. The game is scheduled to tip off at 7:00 PM.

Chad's Take- Too little too late? Blazers four-games behind Memphis in the loss column with 16-games to play.
