A Multnomah County grand jury has reviewed the officer involved death of Damon Johnson in June. District Attorney Nathan Vasquez says the officers won't be charged.
Johnson was in a mental health crisis, flooding his apartment with water and hung knives out of his apartment's window.
He struggled with officers who were taking him into custody. They held him face down on the ground, he became unconscious. He was taken to a hospital where he died.
The Medical Examiner determine Johnson died from prone restraint cardiac arrest because he had acute methamphetamine intoxication. An internal investigation continues.
