Suspect Killed By Police Armed With Cap Gun

A man who was shot and killed by Vancouver Police was armed with a cap gun that was missing the orange tip that shows it's a replica.

Officers responded downtown to reports the suspect's dog had bitten someone.

When police approached 43-year-old Vadim Sashchenko, he pointed what appeared to be a gun at an officer. Police body camera video shows that as the officer fired, Sashchenko threw the gun into the street. Sashchenko died at the scene.

Investigators say the gun was a Super Cap Gun that's sold with an orange tip that was missing from the suspect's cap gun. The investigation continues.
