The suspect in a violent Seaside carjacking and pursuit that ended in Hillsboro has been arrested.
After the pursuit, 18-year-old Isaiah Thompson escaped from police. A tip from Seaside Police helped Washington County Sheriff's deputies locate and arrest Thompson without incident Tuesday night.
Thompson was charged with of Second Degree Attempted Murder, Unlawful Use of a Weapon, First Degree Robbery, Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle, Eluding, and Reckless Driving.
The 80-year-old victim had bought Thompson food several times. The day of the attack he drove Thompson to his house for a beer and a shower. When the victim refused to hand over his keys, Thompson stabbed him and beat him with a chain and padlock. He crawled to a neighbor's home to get help. He's recovering after being released from a hospital in Astoria.
