Clouds Obscure Annular Eclipse Viewing

Clouds covered most of Oregon on Saturday when the moon moved between the Earth and the Sun for an annular eclipse.

It was foggy in the Portland area, but the clouds cleared enough to occasionally see, through the fog, the moon in front of the sun.

The OSU Astronomy Club held a viewing party in Corvallis, where it was also foggy.

The best viewing was expected to be near Klamath Falls and Crater Lake. Skies were partly cloudy there allowing better views of the eclipse.

It'll be more than 50 years before the next annular eclipse moves over Oregon.
