On October 5th, 2023, the Milwaukie Police Department hosted a Human Trafficking Mission in the City of Milwaukie. The goal of this operation was to apprehend sex buyers who engaged with undercover decoy Officers for the purpose of exchanging money for sex. The decoy Officers posed as escorts on popular dating applications and websites providing locations in and near Milwaukie to meet with purchasers of sex.

This mission was hosted by the Clackamas County Interagency Multi-Disciplinary Human Trafficking Team (MDT), which in this event involved investigators from the Milwaukie Police Department, Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office, Oregon City Police Department, Molalla Police Department, Sandy Police Department, Clackamas County Parole and Probation, and The Clackamas County District Attorney’s Office.

During this mission, Investigators apprehended seven sex buyers. Due to the circumstances and misdemeanor severity of the crimes, the offenders were provided a citation release pending a court appearance. One suspect, 51-year-old Michael Mccord, of Portland, was lodged at the Clackamas County Jail. Mccord was cited and subsequently released for his first solicitation. He then contacted a second decoy Officer online and was taken into custody, lodged on the two counts of Prostitution and Felon in possession of a restricted weapon.

The Milwaukie Police Department routinely participates in Interagency stings involving Human Trafficking, Theft, and Traffic Safety, in Milwaukie and throughout Clackamas County.
