Oregon Governor Tina Kotek directed Oregon State Police to help Portland Police control drug dealing and crime.
Troopers will start working with the Portland Police Bike patrol in downtown.
The number of troopers will depend on daily availability.
They'll focus on fentanyl dealing and people using guns in the drug trade. They'll also watch for stolen vehicles and people wanted for felonies.
The goal is to increase visibility and reduce drug dealing and crime.
