On June 25, at approximately 12:17 a.m., a Gresham Police officer was flagged down about a shooting that occurred at S. Main Ave. and Powell Blvd. The victim reported that the driver of a white Ford Fusion chased him down and shot at him, striking his vehicle. The victim reported this happened after a dispute about who should have yielded in an area fast food drive-through line. The victim was not hurt in the shooting, but his vehicle was damaged.
On July 3, Gresham Police officers located the occupied suspect vehicle in the 1600 Block of SE 190th Ave. and took the suspect into custody. Gresham Police detectives responded and worked through the night investigating the case. On the morning of July 4, detectives performed a search of the suspect’s vehicle and residence, pursuant to a signed search warrant. The search yielded evidence of the crime, 11 firearms, and more than 1,000 rounds of ammunition.
19-year-old Matteo Greene, of Gresham, was lodged at Multnomah County Detention Center on suspicion of Attempt Assault in the First Degree, Unlawful Use of Weapon, and Unlawful Possession of Firearms.
