Alcohol was a likely factor in the death of a hiker on Saturday near Multnomah Falls.

The Multnomah County Sheriff's Office says 41-year-old Gerardo Hernandez-Rodriguez, his wife and five children were hiking past the Benson Bridge near the first switchback when he stumbled and fell down an embankment and over a cliff. He fell 200-feet.

A Sheriff's deputy found his body at the base of the cliff.

Investigators say alcohol impairment was a likely contributing factor to the accident.
