Boy Injured By Thrown Tire Iron

A teenager is in the hospital with serious injuries after being struck with a tire iron.

On Saturday, June 24, 2023 at 7:03p.m., East Precinct officers responded to an “ASSIST” call in the 12000 block of Southeast Foster Road. Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office Deputies, who were at a local hospital with a patient who had been injured and transported there by private vehicle, requested Portland Police respond to the possible crime scene near the Foster Road location. The deputies advised that their preliminary investigation found a 13-year-old boy was seriously injured after a tire iron was thrown into a moving car he was sitting in. The injuries were potentially life-threatening.

Officers responded to the location and began interviewing witnesses, confirming that the incident had happened there and that the boy had been struck with a tire iron. Detectives from the Major Crimes Unit responded to the scene and the hospital. They have continued the active investigation since.
