On Saturday April 15, 2023, East Precinct Officers conducted a Stolen Vehicle Operation (SVO). This operation was focused on numerous areas in East Precinct with a high number of reported stolen vehicles.
This operation resulted in 33 stops with 14 stolen vehicles recovered, 11 arrests, and 2 recovered firearms.
Officers from this SVO also handed out wheel locking devices to those that had their vehicle recovered.
East Precinct continues to run these operations using a data-driven and evidence-based approach to conduct less stops with better outcomes (recovering stolen vehicles).
East Precinct has partnered with OHSU’s Knight Cancer Research Institute in addressing stolen vehicles in the community.
