Police Seek Attempted Murder Suspect

The Portland Police Bureau is looking for a man in connection with a shooting in the 15900 Block of East Burnside that injured two people, one only 11 years old.

On January 11, 2023, at 7:33 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 15900 Block of East Burnside Street on the report of an injury shooting. The dispatched officer and members of the Focused Intervention Team (FIT) rushed to the area and found two people suffering from non-life-threatening gunshot wounds. The adult victim declined immediate medical attention and later drove himself to a local hospital; however, the juvenile victim, an 11-year-old girl, was transported to a local hospital to receive medical treatment. The suspect fled the area immediately after the shooting.

Witnesses at the scene have identified the shooter as 36-year-old Rashad Calbert. Calbert is wanted for the following charges associated to this case: Attempted Murder in the Second Degree (two counts), Assault in the First Degree (two counts), Unlawful Use of a Weapon and Unlawfully Discharging a Firearm inside City Limits.

Calbert is known to travel using public transit. Calbert is 5'7" tall and weighs approximately 140 lbs.
