The Oregon Office of State Fire Marshal (OSFM) is hosting a series of town hall meetings about the development of the defensible space code, timelines, and opportunities for community input.
The OSFM is working through a public process with the Oregon Defensible Space Code development committee, a diverse group of stakeholders, to develop a set of standards based on the framework established through SB 762. In addition, to continue gathering public input from Oregonians, the OSFM is hosting a series of 17 town hall meetings across Oregon.
The upcoming meetings are in Detroit, Albany, and Wilsonville. The dates and times for each session are:
- August 30 at 5:30 – 7 p.m., Detroit, Detroit Lake Community Center, 345 Santiam Ave W
- August 31 at 5:30 – 7 p.m., Linn County Fairgrounds, Conference Rooms 1-3, 3700 Knox Butte Rd
- September 6 at 5:30 – 7 p.m., Wilsonville, Wilsonville Public Library, Oak Room, 8200 SW Wilsonville Rd
