Portland Public Schools Enhances Summer Learning

Portland Public Schools held a press conference to bring attention to its 2022 summer programs set to begin as early as June 21. The $15m program is the most robust summer programming package in PPS and state history.

“PPS is pleased to offer a range of engaging, learning opportunities for students all summer long,” said Dr. Cheryl Proctor, Deputy Superintendent of Instruction and School Community. “The theme for our summer program is Create, Learn, Play, and there are opportunities for students of all ages from K-12 including academic support, credit completion enrichment activities, culturally specific activities and specialized support for our students with disabilities,” Proctor said.

In addition to offering high quality academic programming, PPS is partnering with over 50 community organizations to provide a host of free summer enrichment camps for over 7,500 students across Portland.

With more than 50 programs, PPS will provide a wide array of enrichment opportunities.

There is still time for families to enroll their students in programs, including free child care. Please see the menu of options at pps.net/summer2022
