Reward Offered In Synagogue Arson, Threat

The Portland Police Bureau and Portland Fire & Rescue, in partnership with Crime Stoppers of Oregon, is asking for the public's help to solve an arson at a Northwest Portland synagogue.

On Monday May 2, 2022, staff from Congregation Beth Israel, located at 1972 NW Flanders Street, reported to police that an unknown person or persons applied graffiti to the outside of the synagogue and started a fire on exterior doors. The fire left scorch marks but did not significantly damage the facility. The incident occurred sometime between the afternoon hours of Sunday May 1 and the morning hours of Monday May 2.

Anyone with information about this incident is urged to contact investigators or Crime Stoppers of Oregon.
