Two people who were killed in a crash early this morning on the TV Highway at Murray Boulevard were students at Southridge High School.

Their car collided with a Washington County Sheriff's patrol car.

The deputy, identified as Michael Trotter, and three other people in the car, also students from Southridge, were hospitalized in critical condition.

Investigators say the car ran a red light at the intersection and crashed into the side of the patrol car.

The two students who were killed have been identified as 17-year-old Matthew Amaya and 16-year-old Juan Pacheco Aguilera.
