A rare spring snow storm brought heavy, wet snow to the Portland and Vancouver areas.
Many trees couldn't handle the weight of the snow, causing limbs, and in some cases whole trees, to come crashing down.
Portland General Electric had more than 26,000 customers lose power. Clark Public Utilities had at least 8,800 customers without power.
Most school districts delayed opening by two hours to allow road conditions to improve. A few school districts closed for the day.
Warming temperatures were expected to cause the snow to change to rain and melt the snow during the afternoon.
