A driver crashed into a Salem homeless camp early Sunday morning killing four people.
The camp is located near Front and Division Streets Northeast.
Two people in the camp died at the scene. Four people were transported to a hospital with life-threatening injuries and two of them died.
The driver was also hospitalized. Based on the investigation conducted by the Salem Police Traffic Team, the driver of the vehicle involved in the crash incident, Enrique Rodriguez, Jr., age 24, was arrested on the following charges:
- Manslaughter in the first degree, four counts
- Assault in the second degree
- Assault in the third degree
- Reckless endangerment, six counts
