Doggie Dash Is Back

After two years of virtual celebrations, Oregon Humane Society’s most beloved event, Doggie Dash, is returning to Waterfront Park for 2022. Doggie Dash is the largest celebration of people and pets on the West Coast and the biggest fundraiser of the year for Oregon Humane Society.

In 2022, Doggie Dash has special meaning as pet lovers gather in person to celebrate their love for animals and the special bond that’s been strengthened during the past 24 months. Pets have provided a sense of calm, comfort and stress relief as the community has weathered the unprecedented challenges of the pandemic.

While many things will look the same at this year’s Doggie Dash, some adjustments have been made to keep people safe and spread out. The traditional pancake breakfast is being replaced with individually wrapped breakfast items, the popular Libation Station will have two locations at the park, and more Dash wave start times have been added. New cleaning protocols are also being implemented. OHS is following local guidelines and recommendations from OHA and the CDC.

Registration is free, but Dashers are encouraged to fundraise to support the lifesaving services at Oregon Humane Society. Donations raised by Dashers help fund critical services including adoptions, veterinary care, pet behavior services, disaster response and help for abused and neglected animals.

“We are so excited to return to an in-person Doggie Dash this year,” says Sharon Harmon, OHS President and CEO. “The support of Dashers is more important than ever to help OHS continue our lifesaving work.”
