SOLVE Volunteers Needed For Downtown Portland Cleanup

SOLVE invites community members to volunteer during the Downtown Portland Cleanup, sponsored by Portland Lodging Alliance, on February 16, 2022. This event is happening two days after Valentine’s Day and is a perfect opportunity to show the Rose City love through volunteer action.

The February Downtown Portland Cleanup will have four project sites, including The Benson Hotel, Waterfront Park, Goose Hollow at the KGW Studios, and Providence Park. Volunteers are welcome to attend any one of the project sites where they will check-in, receive free cleanup supplies, and be given a safety debrief, before heading out into the surrounding area to pick up litter. Volunteers may begin checking in at 9 AM and the event runs until 11 AM.

Families, coworkers, and businesses are all encouraged to attend. SOLVE’s Downtown Portland Cleanup is more than just an opportunity to remove litter from the city; it is an opportunity to work together to show support and appreciation for the city that we call home.

This Downtown Portland Cleanup is happening just over a month after SOLVE’s Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service, where more than 380 volunteers removed thousands of pounds of trash from the downtown corridor.

Each piece of litter collected makes our city a more welcoming place to work, play, and live. Each piece of litter collected also prevents leaching into our waterways and potential harm to local wildlife. All are welcome to attend SOLVE’s Downtown Portland Cleanup.
