Rape Suspect Indicted

Portland Police have identified four victims of a rape a suspect and they think there might be more.

The first victim was identified in March and detectives have identified three other people.

60-year-old Carlos Rodriguez-Lanz faces 39 counts of rape, kidnapping, and sexual abuse.

Rodriguez-Lanz, who was already in custody on an unrelated parole violation, was arraigned on August 25, 2021, and will remain in custody pending any further court proceedings. The indictment was the result of several months of investigation by Portland Police patrol officers and Detectives assigned to the Sex Crimes Unit.

During the course of the investigation numerous victims were identified. Based on the investigation it is believed there are more victims. The Portland Police Bureau Sex Crimes Unit is looking to speak with anyone who may have been a victim of, or have information about crimes committed by Rodriguez-Lanz.
