Fatal Shooting On TriMet Bus

A disturbance led to a fatal shooting Sunday afternoon on a TriMet bus in Portland.

Portland Police were dispatched to a report of someone shot in the area of Southeast Hawthorne Boulevard and Southeast 26th Avenue. When officers arrived, they found an adult male with what appeared to be gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to the hospital by ambulance. Paramedics and emergency medical personnel attempted lifesaving measures, but the victim died at the hospital.

Officers began an investigation and learned that the suspect left before police were called. No arrests have been made. No suspect information is being released. Preliminary investigation suggests that the shooting happened during a disturbance on a TriMet bus.
