16-Year-Old Killed In Gateway Discovery Park Shooting

Four people were wounded in a shooting Thursday night at Gateway Discovery Park in Northeast Portland and a 16-year-old was killed.

Portland Police responded to a shots fired call at the park around 9 p.m. Thursday. The park is located in the 10500 block of Northeast Halsey Street. Four people had been shot.

The Oregon State Medical Examiner's Officer determined 16 year old Jaelin James Scott died of a gunshot wound and ruled his death a homicide.

Three other young adults were shot during the incident and were transported to area hospitals and are expected to survive.
