Arrest Made In July Assault Of Beaverton Girl

Police in Auburn, Washington have arrested 20-year-old Robert Jackson in connection with a July 29th burglary/assault of a 10-year-old girl in the 13700 block of SW 6th Street Beaverton, Oregon. 

On July 29, 2018 Beaverton Police officers investigated a burglary/assault. Officers learned the suspect gained entry into a first floor bedroom through an open window which had a screen on it. The suspect assaulted a 10-year-old girl who was sleeping in the bedroom. The victim was able to alert family members and the suspect fled the scene. The victim sustained non-life threatening injuries. A Leatherman brand multi-tool was recovered which belonged to the suspect.

In October 2018, DNA evidence results linked Jackson to the scene of the crime.  On November 5, 2018 evidence in this case was presented to a Washington County Grand Jury.  The Grand Jury indicted Mr. Jackson on 17 criminal counts to include: 4 counts of Attempted Aggravated Murder, Assault in the First Degree, 2 counts of Sexual Abuse in the First Degree, 2 counts of Attempted Rape in the First Degree, 2 counts of Attempted Sodomy in the First Degree, 2 counts of Attempted Sexual Abuse in the First Degree, 2 counts of Burglary in the First Degree, Unlawful Use of a Weapon and Coercion.

Jackson was residing at the Stone Creek Apartments, located in the 5000 block of SW Murray Blvd, during the timeframe of the crime.  Beaverton Police detectives would like to speak to community members who had any suspicious contact with Jackson during the time he resided in Beaverton.  Anyone with information regarding Jackson please call 503-629-0111 and speak with Detective Maggie Brown.
