ODOT will close I-5 northbound near Terwilliger Blvd. Friday at 10 p.m. for several hours to clean up the rest of the drywall compound spilled last week.
ODOT’s original plan called for traffic to help break up the residue, and then eventually rains would wash it clean. But the drywall residue hasn't broken up as expected, and rain could just make it very slick.
Friday at 10 p.m., northbound traffic will be diverted onto the Terwilliger Boulevard off ramp then directly back on to the interstate using the Terwilliger on-ramp.
Travelers should experience minor delays and short backups.
I-5 southbound will not be affected.
