The woman, identified only as Jenny, expressed her rage in the Aug. 12 edition of the Australian paper Mackay and Whitsunday Life.
Her letter reads, ““Dear Steve, I hope you’re happy with her,” the ad, which was published in large font and capital letters, read. “Now the whole town will know hat a filthy cheater you are. From Jenny. P.S. I bought this ad using your credit card.”
The newspapers has a distribution of around 50,000.
They say they were inundated with calls from nosy locals wanting further information on the small-town scandal.
Interest was so intense, editors wrote on the paper’s Facebook page: “ **ANNOUNCEMENT** We have been inundated with dozens of messages this morning about the Advert on Page 4 of Mackay Life - As there’s too many to reply to; we would like to address it here.
1. We do NOT know who Steve is, but apparently he’s been very very bad.
2. We won’t be revealing any details about Jenny.
3. We have not charged the credit card in question.”
