The FDA is warning about a new craze that has people injecting the blood of someone younger than them--into their body.
The purpose--to look younger.
Several companies are offering infusions of plasma, the liquid part of blood that contains antibodies and proteins that help blood clot, to help people reverse aging, memory loss and other conditions.
The FDA says claims that say that such infusions help treat these conditions are not supported by evidence. It also says that the procedure can have adverse infectious, allergic, cardiovascular and respiratory side effects.
