Teen Kidnapper Sentenced To Prison

A Colorado man who kidnapped a 14-year-old Clackamas County girl and took her out of state, where he allegedly engaged in sex with her, was sentenced Monday to 70 months in prison.

Hernan Gomez, 28, pled guilty in Clackamas County Circuit Court to Kidnapping in the Second Degree, Online Sexual Corruption of a Minor in the First Degree and Luring a Minor. He also must register as a sex offender.

The victim met Gomez on Snapchat in late 2024. Gomez asked the girl to send him nude images of herself. After repeated communication with Gomez, the girl agreed to go to Colorado with him and he picked her up at her Happy Valley residence.

In early January, the girl called her mother several times from a blocked number and stated she was traveling to Colorado with an adult male.

Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office detectives identified the man as Gomez and tracked him to a hotel in Glenwood Springs, Colorado, where he was taken into custody by local police. The girl was returned to her mother's custody.

The victim and her family did not attend the sentencing. Gomez declined to make a statement.

Gomez faces multiple criminal charges in Colorado.
