A weeklong disruption to TriMet’s MAX Blue and Red lines through the Robertson Tunnel begins on Sunday, Sept. 7. During the disruption, shuttle buses will carry riders between Sunset Transit Center and Providence Park MAX Station, giving crews the opportunity to make improvements to the track and overhead wire system.
Four MAX stations will be affected:
- Sunset Transit Center
- Washington Park
- Goose Hollow/SW Jefferson St
- Providence Park
Shuttle buses will arrive at stops near the closed stations approximately every five minutes on weekdays and every seven minutes on weekends.
MAX Green, Orange and Yellow Line trains will not be affected by the project. Passengers should plan on 45 minute delays.
Regular MAX service will resume on Sunday, Sept. 14.
During the seven-day disruption, crews will replace about a mile of the overhead wire used to power MAX trains and repair or replace around 900 feet of track. Crews will also deep clean the closed stations, as well as inside the tunnel itself.
