Multnomah County will test its Wireless Emergency Alert system on Thursday at 2 p.m.

A message will be sent to nearly one million cell phones in the county.

Due to overlapping cell phone signals, some people in Washington and Clackamas counties could also get the message.

There will be a loud tone and a text message in English and Spanish.

They're asking people who receive the message to not call 911, unless they have an emergency.
