A Woodburn man was sentenced to more than eight years in prison for robbing several stores while wearing what appeared to be an explosive vest.
Nicholas Contreras-Salmion admitted to the robberies and building the fake bomb vests, saying he was out of work and needed money.
Prosecutors say he was using meth at the time.
Two Woodburn grocery stores were targeted in January and February.
Contreras-Salmion was arrested a week after the second incident, and was wearing another hoax bomb vest.
