Governor Starts Work On ODOT Layoffs

The Oregon Legislature ended its session Friday without passing a transportation bill.

Governor Tina Kotek says it will lead to as many as 700 layoffs at ODOT. She's starting work on those layoffs on Monday.

They'll take effect in July when the agency's budget starts.

The Governor proposed a smaller bill that would have created revenue to maintain ODOT at its current level, but that also failed to pass.
