Oregon Homelessness Up 12%

Homelessness in Oregon increased 12 percent since 2023. Nationwide the increase was 18 percent.

A report from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development shows there were nearly 23,000 people who were homeless in Oregon and that number increased by 2,700.

62% of the homeless population in the state is unsheltered. Oregon, California and Hawaii were the only states with unsheltered homeless rates above 60 percent.
