Light the World Giving Machines are located at Washington Square Mall to raise donations for five local nonprofits.
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints created the donation vending machines and they're being used in cities around the world.
Oregon Nonprofits include these donation options:
- Community Warehouse: Mattress, bed in a bag, cookware, towel set, pillows
- Oregon Catholic Charities: Week of shelter, migrant legal services, winter coat for a senior, refugee food box, month of diapers
- With Love Oregon: Baby gear, new shoes, clothe a foster child, children’s books, baby bedding
- Sunshine Division: 30 pounds of rice, peanut butter, healthy school snacks, fresh produce, week of groceries
- Open House Ministries: Clothing and shoes for kids, family welcome basket, fuel gift card, STEM toys, field trips for kids
Globally:
- Unicef: 100 polio vaccines, baby resuscitation kits, educational feeding sets
- Lifting Hands: 3 chickens, school kits for refugees
The vending machines are located at Washington Square Mall near the 85°C Bakery Café.
