TSA is predicting the busiest Labor Day travel period on record, here’s how it looks at PDX:
- Between Thursday, Aug 29 and Monday, Sept. 2, nearly 270,000 travelers are expected to pass through PDX (inbound and outbound)—up more than 7% over the same period in 2023.
- Friday, Aug. 30 is looking to be the busiest travel day with over 59,000 travelers forecasted. But even that won’t reach peak days seen earlier this summer.
- In fact, two days this summer—Sunday, June 16 (at #7) and Sunday, August 11 (at #5)—landed in the top 10 busiest days at PDX.
It’s recommended that travelers arrive two hours prior to the their flights—or even earlier if they want to check out everything new at PDX.
There will be extra team members and volunteers available to answer any questions travelers have and help them to navigate the new main terminal.
There’s also an updated terminal map available at flypdx.com/map, where travelers can see the new layout, plus find new shops, restaurants and the location of the iconic carpet that’s back at PDX.
Travelers who plan to park at PDX while they travel can check garage capacity before they leave for the airport at flypdx.com/parking.
