After years of construction, the new main terminal at Portland International Airport will open August 14th.
It will bring the return of pre-security shopping and dining.
With a month to go before the opening, hundreds of local craftspeople are finishing the project.
Ticket counters and art installations are in, local concessions are near complete, and plants are taking root. 72 live trees will create a "walk in the forest."
The second phase of the project will begin August 15th and will be complete during the Winter of 2025-2026 when more than five-thousand plants will be inside of the airport.
