Two Climbers Rescued From Mt. Hood

Two climbers were injured in a fall on Mt. Hood yesterday (Sunday). Michelle and Travis Malik were near the 10-thousand foot level behind Crater Rock when they fell 700 feet. Other climbers gave them first aid until rescuers arrived. Michelle had moderate injuries and was carried down the mountain. Travis suffered minor injuries. They were both transported to a hospital. The Clackamas County Sheriff's Office says this is not a safe time to climb the mountain, because of melting snow and falling rock.
