A man who has COVID-19 coughed and spit on a Tigard Police officer. Early Sunday morning, police responded to a McDonalds, because a driver had passed out in his car while in the drive-thru. When officers arrived, the driver was partially hanging out of door. While officers were arresting the man he started coughing and then turned to cough and spit in the face of an officer stating that he had COVID-19. Staff at the jail later determined the man is positive for coronavirus. Beside being booked for driving under the influence the man was also charged with felony aggravated harassment for coughing on the officer.
