Oregon Soldier's Body Returned

The body of Private First Class Alexander Klass has been returned to Oregon.

Klass was killed in a non-combat-related incident on Independence Day in Kosovo.

The Defense Department hasn't released details about his death.

The investigation continues.

A procession took Klass' body from Portland International Airport to McMinnville. Klass will be laid to rest during a graveside memorial service this Sunday.

Klass' awards and decorations include the Army Commendation Medal, the Army Good Conduct Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, the Armed Forces Reserve Medal with “M” device, the Army Service Ribbon, the Overseas Service Ribbon, the NATO Medal, the Oregon Meritorious Service Medal, and Oregon Superior Soldier Ribbon.
