Police Seek Assault Suspects

The Clackamas County Sheriff's Office is trying to identify two teenage suspects who assaulted a person at Boones Ferry Park in Wilsonville.

The assault happened Tuesday afternoon.

A 911 caller told dispatchers they could see a person yelling for help along the riverbank across the river from Boones Ferry Boat Launch.

Deputies arrived at Boones Ferry Park. With the help of a man swimming in the Willamette River, they located the subject approximately 100 feet down the shoreline. At the riverbank, deputies found the subject in the water along the shoreline, holding onto driftwood.

Once assisted out of the water, the 20-year-old victim told deputies they had been punched in the face and their iPhone had been stolen.

The victim told deputies about events leading to the assault. On the path to the river, the victim saw three male teenagers. The victim heard one of the teens call the victim a transgender slur, but ignored the comment and continued upriver.

While the victim was sitting on a log eating, one of the teenage males approached the victim and asked if they had any alcohol.

About 45 minutes later, the three teens approached the victim. One male reportedly punched the victim on the right side of the face, then in the nose, and possibly a third time. The victim then fell into the water and tried to swim away from the teen attackers.

One of the teens then stole the victim's iPhone 8.

The victim swam upstream about 100 feet and tried to make it back to shore, but got stuck in the mud, where deputies later contacted the victim. The victim was unable to get out of the water and said they lost one of their water socks. The victim told deputies they had been yelling for help for a couple of hours and were extremely cold.

The victim suffered injuries and abrasions to the face, arms and legs. American Medical Response responded to the scene to render aid.

Forensic sketches of two of the three teen suspects have been released.

The three suspects are described as:

• Suspect 1 is described as a white male, late teens, approximately 5'8" tall with chin-length brown hair.

• Suspect 2 is described as a white male, late teens, approximately 5'8" tall, with short spiked hair.

• Suspect 3 (no composite sketch) is described as a white male, late teens, approximately 5'10" tall and blonde hair.
