At 11:09 a.m., a report of a bullet lodged in a front door of a residence was reported in the 7400 block of Southeast 86th Avenue. It was unclear when this happened due to the loud explosions from fireworks throughout the night. Officers located an expended bullet in the door jamb of the residence. No one was injured.
At 8:39 p.m. North Precinct officers responded to the 5200 block of Northeast 91st Avenue on reports of a male shot.
Officers located the victim who had a leg wound and an Officer applied a tourniquet to stop the bleeding. The victim, an adult male, was transported to a local hospital and his injuries were determined to be non-life-threatening.
Officers have not been able to locate a crime scene and it is unclear where this incident occurred.
Another shooting was reported at 9:00 p.m. and East Precinct officers responded to the 5200 block of Southeast 97th Avenue. Dispatch reported multiple shots were fired at a residence were a family was having a bar-b-que. Officers arrived and learned that multiple people, including 10-15 children, were attending the family gathering. Fortunately, no one was injured.
Multiple houses and a vehicle were struck by gunfire. One homeowner, whose home was struck by the bullets, heard the shots and went outside to see what was going on. When she went back inside, she found her 11 month-old child putting, what she later learned was a spent bullet, into her mouth.
