Bystanders rescued a man who was face down in the water at Clackamas Cove.
The incident happened around 6:45 p.m. Tuesday. the bystanders pulled the man to shore and started CPR.
When members of the Clackamas County Swift Water Rescue Consortium arrived, they started advanced life support care.
After beginning patient care, the patient and crew was retrieved by a Clackamas County Sheriff boat that was able to navigate up the Clackamas River to the patients location. After a short boat ride down to Clackamette Park, the patient was transferred to a waiting American Medical Response ambulance where he was transported to an area hospital.
It is not known at this time what caused the individual to be unconscious in the water. The man's condition hasn't been released.
The Swift Water Rescue Consortium is made up of specialized water rescue units throughout Clackamas County. Units from Tualatin Valley Fire and Rescue, Gladstone Fire and the Clackamas County Sheriffs Office assisted with this rescue.
