Seattle’s Insurrection Shows That Democrats Cannot Keep Your Family Safe

Anti-Racism Protests Continue In Seattle

The insurrection taking place in the heart of Seattle is a stark reminder about what is at stake in the 2020 election. Do you want a president who stands up to anarchists masquerading as protesters or one who asks their permission to allow police officers to return?

Buck Sexton, the host of “The Buck Sexton Show,” said the crisis in Seattle shows what happens when you have an “incompetent buffoon” running a city.

President Trump has called out Mayor Jenny Durkan and Gov. Jay Inslee for allowing the city to descend into chaos. Trump tweeted, “Take back your city NOW. If you don’t I will.”

The scene in the city is remarkable. So-called protesters set up an area called the “Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone,” which stretches about six blocks that feature signs that read, “No cop co-op.” Police are effectively banned. The East Precinct has been boarded up and abandoned due to unspecified threats of arson.

“We are dedicated to working with peaceful protesters on a way to move forward, ”Deanna Nollette said at a press conference on Wednesday. KOMONews reported that there are “armed citizens patrolling the streets around the police station.”

The report pointed out that Washington is an open-carry state, but Nollette said firearms should not be used to intimidate people.“We have heard anecdotal reports of citizens and businesses being asked to pay a fee to operate within this area,” Nollette said, according to the station. “This is the crime of extortion."

Sexton compared the protest to Occupy Wall Street, which lingered for months in New York City back in 2011. It was eventually cleared out in an overnight raid by police, according to the Associated Press. Like Occupy Wall Street, the group in Capitol Hill has no clear demands. The Seattle Times reported that a person handed out flyers at the protest laying out its objective and was asked by a participant, “I support this, but what’s next?”

“Did we move forward as a society because of Occupy Wall Street? No. It was like a radical cosplay and costume play for those who don’t know,” Sexton said.

Sexton called out the hypocrisy in the media on how the Seattle protest has been covered compared to the Michigan coronavirus lockdown protests.

“If you have a gun, legally in Michigan and you go outside the state capitol, you’re basically a domestic terrorist,” he said. “If you are in Seattle and a ‘lib’ and a leftist, and you are carrying firearms and you’re setting up barriers and barricades, you are a free-thinker.”
