One person was killed in an officer involved shooting early Friday morning on I-5 south of Salem.
Oregon State Police were involved in the incident that happened near milepost 248, about six miles south of Salem on I-5 southbound.
The suspect died at the scene. No troopers were injured.
Police have not said what led to the shooting.
The Salem Police Department is leading the investigation in cooperation with the Marion County District Attorney’s Office. The involved troopers have been placed on paid administrative leave as is standard practice for these events.
