A hit and run driver caused a crash Friday morning that caused a major power outage in North Portland and shut down the MAX Yellow Line trains.
The crash happened at 2:45 a.m. near North Interstate Avenue and Killingsworth Street. The car hit a utility pole causing a power outage affecting several thousand customers.
The driver walked away from the scene of the crash, but later returned. 25-year-old Alexander Ditchey was arrested for Reckless Driving and Driving Under the Influenced. He was cited and released.
