Deputies Search For Suspect Who Cut Ankle Monitor

The Washington County Sheriff's Office is trying to find 29-year-old Josiah Rosales who cut off his court-ordered ankle monitor.

Rosales was arrested in July of 2019 for several crimes.

On September 16, 2019, Rosales posted ten percent of his $1,250,000 bail and was released from the Washington County Jail.

Rosales had several conditions associated with his release, to include wearing a GPS ankle monitor at all times.

Monday afternoon, detectives received notification that Rosales had cut off the ankle monitor. Detectives, deputies and a canine unit searched for Rosales, but were unable to locate him.

Rosales currently has felony warrant out for his arrest.

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public to call 911 if they see Rosales or know where he is. The Washington County Sheriff’s Office urges the public not to contact Rosales or attempt to detain him if they come in contact with him.

Rosales is charged with:

  • Rape in the first degree
  • Rape in the second degree
  • Sodomy in the first degree
  • Attempted sodomy in the first degree
  • Sodomy in the second degree
  • Sexual abuse in the first degree
  • Unlawful sexual penetration in the second degree
  • Luring a minor
  • Encouraging child sex abuse
