Thursday afternoon, East Precinct police officers responded to the 16000 block of Southeast Alder Street in Portland after a woman stole a United States Postal Service truck.
As the woman was driving away in the stolen truck, she hit a passenger bus near Northeast Wasco Street and Northeast 162 Avenue. Minor injuries were reported on the bus relating to this collision.
Officers eventually located the truck still being driven and tried to conduct a traffic stop. Due to the suspect's erratic driving behavior, the truck flipped and crashed near Northeast 155 Avenue and Northeast Fremont Street.
The shirtless suspect then fled on foot where she was taken into custody by officers after a 12 block foot pursuit.
Officers, nor the suspect, sustained any injuries. The woman was hospitalized for apparent drug use.
